I've been recently rocking some Bloodbath. The new EP, "Unblessing the Purity" is really solid death metal. I'm not too much of a fan of the cookie monster vocals and unintelligeable guitar riffs, so this album is pretty much up my alley. With members of Opeth, Katatonia and another band I can't remember, you know you're going to get good vocals courtesy of Opeth's own Mikael Åkerfeldt and awesome song writing by the other members.
It's basically like listening to Opeth's heaviest stuff with Katatonia type guitar solos and riffs.
They aren't really breaking any new ground, but for an EP it's really solid and I wish it was about 3-4 songs longer. All the songs are pretty short with none over 5 minutes. It's almost primed for radio singledom! Or not.
